Under a Rustler's Moon (2017)
for guitar duo (5')
program note
A rustler’s moon is what cattlemen call a crescent moon. Rustlers (cattle thieves) in the Old West would use the faint light of a crescent moon to pull off heists and have just enough light to escape with the herd. By recalling my own childhood on the Great Plains, I tried to recreate the serenity of this liminal space between darkness and light.
